Forbidden truth (The Altantuya Shaaribuu’s Case : How and why she was killed?

This posting is an article which is not able to publish in Malaysia due to security reason.  Malaysian government is still controlling our local medias and they keeping us like a frog in a well. Lets see what does the local media wrote about it:-
Malaysiakini is unable to reproduce all the details of the document due to possible legal complications that could arise as a result of the on-going murder trial.”

Lets read the article together so that we can get some clue of a Mongolian lady who was killed for their own purpose. The following article was published in Liberation French newspaper on 5th March 5009.

By Arnaud Dubus (in Kuala Lumpur, Ulaan Baataar and Paris)

(First published in Liberation French newspaper, 5th of March 2009)

Shaaribuu Setev is a bitter and disappointed man. Yet behind the saddened face of this Mongolian lies a fierce determination. Seated in a sofa in the lobby of an Ulaan Baataar hotel rattled by gushes of a freezing wind, this sixty years old man is ready to fight. His face features, hardened by the suffering and the stern climate, and his intense gaze tell all. “My daughter has been murdered by Malaysians on Malaysian territory. And they did not have even offer a word of apology,” states this professor of psychology at the National University of Mongolia. The assassination of his daughter, Altantuya Shaaribuu, took place in October 2006. This was a murder unlike others in a region where business conflicts or petty politics are often settled with a gun. Everything in this case, which started in 2002 when the French Spanish company Armaris concluded the sale of three submarines to the Malaysian government for the amount of one billion Euros, is out of the ordinary. The impact of the “Altantuya case” in France, Malaysia and Mongolia has yet to reach its climax. The murder of the 28 year old Mongolian was the result of a “commission” at the price of 114 million Euros by Armaris to its Malaysian counterpart. This “commission,” which was acknowledged by the Malaysian government in front of the Parliament in Kuala Lumpur, has triggered a chain of events that has led to the assassination of Altantuya and the disappearance of several key witnesses in the case.

A report from the Malaysian police, written on 19th november 2006 and which has been kept secret until now, reveals dry and precise descriptions as to how this young woman, a member of Asian high society, has been killed. In this document, one of the killers, a policeman of the Malaysian Special Branch named Sirul Omar, replied to the questions of an officer at a police station close to the murder scene. “When the Chinese woman saw that I was taking a gun, she begged me to spare her, saying she was pregnant. Azilah (the commanding officer of Sirul) grabbed her and [threw] her on the ground. I immediately shot the left side of her face. Then Azilah took off her clothes and put them in a black plastic bag. Azilah noticed that her hand was still moving. He ordered me to shoot again, which I did”, said Sirul. This is the first confirmation of Altantuya’s assassins’ identity. “Then we carried her body into the woods. Azilah wrapped the altantuya22

The revelation of this report in the French newspaper Liberation is the latest chapter in this colorful and dramatic saga featuring French weapon sellers, Mongolian Shaman, and Malaysian politicians. This case is explosive not only for the Malaysian government, since the deputy Prime minister and Finance minister Najib Razak (who is scheduled to become Prime minister at the end of March) is suspected of having links to the case, but also because it could embarrass the DCNS, this French company specialising in military shipbuilding. The French Spanish company Armaris, which sold two Scorpène and one Agosta submarines to Malaysia in June 2002, was bought by DCNS in 2007.

With her magnetic beauty and sophistication, Altantuya is reminiscent of the troubling image of a Far East Mata Hari. She grew up in Saint Petersburg (Russia), then studied at the Institute of Economic Management in Beijing. Besides speaking English, she is fluent in Russian, Chinese and Korean. The fateful cycle for Altantuya came into gear when she met Abdul Razak Baginda in Hong Kong in 2004. Baginda is a security expert and the director of the Malaysian Strategic Research Centre, a pro-government think tank. The two quickly became romantically involved. Altantuya, nicknamed Tuya by her friends, proved to be a useful assistant, helping Baginda translate from Russian to English.

Whereas Altantuya is young and beautiful, the rich and alluring Baginda is a well known figure of the Kuala Lumpur’s elite, notably because of his proximity to the Malaysian Deputy Prime minister and, until 2008, minister of Defense Najib Razak (he is also his security affairs adviser). Baginda parades in the most exclusive circles of Kuala Lumpur, sometimes accompanied by his legitimate wife.

In March 2005, Altantuya and Baginda departed for Europe, touring France, Germany, Italy and Portugal in the red Ferrari of Baginda, staying in posh hotels and dining in the finest restaurants of the old Continent. This trip, however, was not only for tourism: the contract for the sale of the submarines had been signed in 2002, but important details had yet to be settled. “We knew that Baginda was used by Deputy Prime minister Najib Razak as an intermediary for weapons systems deals, especially the high level ones,” says a regional security affairs expert.

At the end of March 2005 the couple was in Paris, where they met with Najib Razak. A picture shows the threesome in a Parisian private club. “Tuya showed me the pix. She said that one of the men was her boyfriend, Abdul Razak Baginda, and the other the “big boss”, Najib Razak. I asked her if they were brothers because of the names, but she said no, and that Najib Razak was the ‘prime minister’”, said Amy, Altantuya’s best friend (Najib Razak has sworn on the Koran that he has never met Altantuya). According to a private detective, now in hiding in India, the beautiful Tuya was also the occasional mistress of the deputy Prime minister, who was introduced to her by Baginda at the end of 2004.

The story became dramatic when, in October 2006, Altantuya was informed that the commission paid by the French-Spanish company Armaris had arrived on a Kuala Lumpur bank account. It had been paid to Perimekar, a company owned by Baginda. Altantuya rushed to Kuala Lumpur, in order to claim her share of the commission from Baginda ; she said she was entitled to 500,000 dollars. Baginda and Altantuya broke up prior to this. A jealous Rosmah Mansor, the feared businesswoman and wife of Najib Razak, objected any payment to Altantuya. Altantuya arrived in Kuala Lumpur with two other Mongolian women, one of them was a Shaman responsible for putting a spell on Baginda if he refused to pay. For several days, Altantuya harassed her ex-lover. On the 18th of October, Baginda could no longer tolerate the daily scenes made by Altantuya in front of his house. He contacted the Director of the Special Branch, Musa Safrie, who happened to also be Najib Razak’s aide de camp.

On October 19th, 2006, a little before 9 pm, two police officers of the Special Branch, Azilah Hadridan and Sirul Omar, were sent in front of Baginda’s house where Altantuya was gesticulating and shouting. They had the order of “neutralizing the Chinese woman.” They kidnapped her, and drove her ten kilometers away and shot her several times. Then, they destroyed her body with C 4 explosives, a type which can only be obtained from within the Defense Ministry. Her entry into Malaysia was erased from the immigration records. It would appear that Altantuya had never come to Malaysia, because there is no trace left of her.

There is no perfect crime. The taxi driver hired by Altantuya for the day did not appreciate that his passenger was kidnapped under his eyes without payment for the fare. He took note of the registration plate of the kidnapper’s car and filed a complaint at the local police station. In a few days, the police identified the car and realized that it was a government vehicle. Events unfolded that even the Deputy Prime minister Najib Razak could not impede. He tried to cover the case. A few hours before the arrest of Baginda, he sent him a SMS : “I will see the Inspector General of Police at 11 am today… The problem will be solved. Be cool”. A few hours after, Baginda was arrested as well as the two police officers of the Special Branch, Azilah and Sirul.

After a trial considered dubious by many observers, Baginda was acquitted with the accusation of having ordered the murder and released in November 2008. Accused of having perpetrated the murder, Azilah and Sirul appeared in front of the Court last month. If convicted, their sentence is death. The verdict is scheduled for the 9th of April.

Thousands of miles from there, in the Mongolian capital city Ulaan Baataar, Shaaribuu Setev, Altantuya’s father, is trying to control his anger. To him and his family, the acquittal and release of Baginda is symbolic of the unfairness of the Malaysian judicial process: “The Malaysian government is not even answering to the letters from the Mongolian Foreign Affairs Ministry,” he says. When Shaaribuu came to the Malaysian parliament to meet Najib Razak, the Deputy Prime minister had to escape through a back door in order to avoid an embarrassing encounter. The Altantuya case has become a key element of the Malaysian political game between Najib Razak (who is expected to become Prime Minister after the United Malay Nation Organisation (UMNO) Congress in March) and the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. So far, Najib Razak has navigated around the obstacles, but the murder of the young Mongolian remains a sword suspended over his head.

One of the most obscure aspects of the Altantuya case is the role of the Armaris company. In October 2007, the Malaysian Deputy Defense minister, Zainal Abdidin Zin, acknowledged in front of the Parliament that Armaris had effectively paid 114 million Euros in commission to Perimekar. He maintained that it was not a bribe, but a payment for “support and coordination services.” Was there corruption as in the case of the Taiwanese frigates in which the French DCNS was also implicated ? DCNS, a private company with public financing, has declined our request for a meeting. “Nobody can comment on this case,” was the sober reply of the DCNS Press relations officer in Paris. A document, which could establish a link between Altantuya and the French company is the guarantee letter written by Abdul Razak Baginda so that his mistress could obtain a visa to enter the Schengen zone (of whom France is a member country). The French embassy could not refuse this service to a man decorated with the Legion d’Honneur. But the role of Altantuya in the submarines negotiations is still not clear. Intelligence agencies find her background intriguing and the Russian FSB (ex-KGB) is following closely the case.

In Ulaan Baataar, Mungunshagai, the eldest son of Altantuya, who is 12 years old, is traumatized by the death of his mother. Altanshagai, the youngest, who is five years old and mentally handicapped, has not understood that he will never see again his mother. “He is asking for her all the time and is staying the whole day prostrated on his chair. Every evening, I bring him sweets and I tell him that his mother gave it to me for him”, says Shaaribuu Setev, the grandfather of the two boys. As for Baginda, he settled down in the United Kingdom with his family. He never uttered a word of regret on the deadly fate of the one who shared his life for two years.

Uthaya’s niece, 11 others held

The six-year-old niece of detained Hindraf leader P Uthayakumar was with 11 people arrested when they attempted to submit a letter at Prime Minister Department’s office in Putrajaya today.

P Vwaishhnnavi (above) is the daughter of Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy who is currently in self-imposed exile in London. Her mother K Shanti was also among those arrested.

Police Watch Malaysia coordinator S Jayathas, who was also held, claimed that they had been told that they were part of an illegal assembly for having gathered near the entrance of the building.

“We were trying to obtain permission from the security guards for Vwaishhnnavi to submit her letter. They said that we were from Hindraf, but we insisted that we were concerned Indians who were accompanying Vwaishnnavi,” Jayathas when contacted.

They are currently at the Putrajaya district police headquarters, but police chief Abd Razak Abd Majid declined comment when contacted.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Muhammad Sabtu Osman confirmed the arrest of eight men and three women during the incident. He clarified that Vwaishhnnavi has not been arrested and is in her mother’s care.

He also said the 11 are being investigated under the Societies Act. (The Home Ministry had imposed a ban on Hindraf on Oct 15, declaring it an illegal grouping.)

Waythamoorthy furious

Contacted on her handphone while waiting for police to record her statement, Shanti said the group had attempted to submit a handwritten letter calling on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to release all those detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) .

“The appeal letter (in Vwaishhnnavi’s handwriting) asked the prime minister to release her uncle, (and other Hindraf leaders as well as) RPK (blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin) ISA detainees,” said Shanti.

“She said that Deepavali would not mean anything to her and all Malaysians, if they are not released.”

Shanti said the letter also included a invitation for Abdullah to attend the family’s ‘open house’ in conjunction with Deepavali.

“(Vwaishhnnavi) wrote that she would be waiting with flowers and cakes,” she added.

Contacted in London by phone, Waythamoorthy expressed outrage that his daughter, wife and supporters had been picked up by police.

“It’s ridiculous to arrest [sic] a child who has come to deliver a Deepavali card and a letter to the PM asking him to release all ISA detainees,” said an obviously incensed Waythamoorthy.

“This only shows that the PM is not telling the truth when he said he is a PM for everyone. He is not!”

On Dec 13 last year, five Hindraf leaders – Uthayakumar, M Manoharan, R Kenghadharan, V Ganabatirau and T Vasantha Kumar – were slapped with a two-year detention order under the ISA. They are being held at the Kamunting detention camp in Perak.

PM Open House Visit in Kepala Batas – CANCELLED.

HINDRAF has called off the PM open house visit in Kepala Batas
on 4th October due to recent false allegations and provocation
by UMNO-controlled news media. Please forward to all.

Brief Statement 17th September 2008

HINDRAF urges its supporters to remain calm and focussed in the wake of the new threat of the use of ISA against opposition leader Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

It is highly likely that the Government which is led by the bully and fascist UMNO would resort to every trick possible to stay on power even at the expense of violating the Federal Constitution and the cardinal principals of Rule of Law. The threat of the use of ISA on grounds of Economic and National Security resembles a similar foundation laid on HINDRAF and its leaders and supporters on 5th December 2007, which saw unfounded malicious allegations of links with the terrorists’ organisations especially the LTTE which eventually led to the arrest of 4 lawyers under the ISA.

HINDRAF fully supports the attempt by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take over the helm of the country, which has seen serious erosion of public confidence and International Respect, which this beloved country once enjoyed.

HINDRAF would commit itself to do everything possible at the International arena and lobby support from International bodies and Governments should the UMNO led Government resort to unlawful measures to curb the legitimate Constitutional take over of Pakatan Government led by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

HINDRAF urges all 12 remaining coalition partners within Barisan National to immediately withdraw support to the premiership of Dato Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and/or any other likely UMNO leader who might take over the helm under the current circumstances. They should never be part of the UMNO agenda of destroying this beautiful and democratic country.

Equal rights for all Malaysians without petting one party.

Saravanan Pitchan

Ref : Equal rights for all Malaysians without petting one party.

Kindly accept my greetings.

I would like to start by using a verse from Hindu Holy Scripture called Bhagavad Gita. The Lord says” samo ‘ham sarva-bhutesu na me dvesyo ‘sti na priyah” Translation: I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all.

In Quran, Allah is saying he is close to everyone (verse 57.4 and verse 50.16).

In that case as an human being we can’t choose which side of our eye is important.

Both are equally important. Now in the same context choosing Bumiputra so called Malays is greater than the non-Muslim is wrong and will not be accepted. If that is the case which Malay’s wants, The Hindus should be applicable to the matter because BUMIPUTRA is coming from Indian or Sanskrit word. BUMI means earth and Putra means son. Everyone on this earth is BUMIPUTRA. You cannot say Chinese or Hindus as AKASHAPUTRA or Son of sky. Please show the public if there is any importance for the word BUMIPUTRA in Al-Quran. First the Muslim authority has to change someone who following Islam long time that has a Hindu name. Maha means great and Thira or Thir means Sober. He is the one who implement BUMIPUTRA strongly. So Mahathir is 100% Hindu name you can ask any Sanskrit scholars about it.

It is better to speak out some controversial matter to solve it rather than rumouring around. We would like to ask the Muslim authority to stop converting Chinese and Indians in a sneaky way. According to Islam, If an Islam follower who would like to give up Islam should undergo several procedures and he or she have to face the Muslim community in Malaysia too. Why the Muslims are doing other way around where they just convert someone without telling or informing the family members and their faith or religion authorities? We don’t want to touch any act that you have to protect your rights. We are asking you to give us a priority to protect our rights. What is going on now is just because someone is not from your same faith you can rape without marriage. If the government of Malaysia doesn’t want to implement a rule where non-Muslims have to inform their family or religious authority before converting, it should be other way around where Muslims should convert other religion without letting know authority too. Do you see this as fair?? If we do this will create chaos. So please stop all this so we can live peacefully in Malaysia. That is the reason I use the verse saying god is equal to everyone without partial and envy.

There are so many things we are hearing that imam in mosque preachers hatred towards non-Muslims. I have example here quoted on a website in Malaysia.

“If you really, really have nothing to do with your time, then you should attend the noonday Friday prayers at the mosque and listen to the imam lament about the enemies of Islam who all have an agenda to destroy Islam. If not, then don’t waste your time. Do something else instead. Yes, non-Muslims are the enemies of Islam, according to these imams, and they are all united in their effort to ‘kill’ Islam.”

Are we trying to unite people or destroy unity? PAS leader said in a video clip with Malaysiakini said that until now he didn’t see any 100% Muslim countries above corruption. It is related because both are bad manner. Islam is a religion which shows example and don’t treat others as slave. It is not once, when I was in school, I use to follow Kelas Agama, it is the same always-provoking hatred. Stop this immediately.

If we preach this in all Temples, Government or Malays Muslim will not like it.

When the god sees everyone equally who are we to see a kind of “human” partially? Why so much Envy? But the so call God gave everyone food to eat and take care all human being according to his understanding and love equally. We human being should not try to be god. Another issue we want allocation for Tamil schools. If you can’t give say openly to the public that you are not going to do so. With your answer we can know what to do further. Don’t hide behind curtain or hide behind political carrier. Truthfulness will not die.

In the last few years governance of BN, many of our intelligent citizens ran away from Malaysia due to lack of opportunity and poor economy. The economy is only good for BN leaders because you are getting income plus the rest. We common citizen have to struggle. I am insisting that the government give back or double citizenships to those who has another country citizenship. Don’t blame other who went away, First try to see low class peoples living standard. I hope you will consider this for Malaysia’s good future.

Many of Malaysians are suffering with demoniac people who lend money and taking high interest. In the bad governance of BN, many Muslims, Chinese, Indians and etc are suffering with moneylenders. These moneylenders are vastly protected by corrupted police officers. Again stop this giving freedom for money lender who are

Aggressing low-income people. Give permit only for banks and bigger financial firm not protection for small-scale illegal financers. Many fear for their life.

Police force is always in favor of politicians, we as Malaysians want a reformed police who is free from your clutches. Now it is very common where from top till lower post of police rank everything has to do with money and power. We don’t appreciate this it will cause the falling down of truthfulness and your power.

Working opportunity for everyone in Malaysia without seeing race and color. Color and religion is very material. If you are too much in too Islam Hadhari then you have to give everyone equal opportunity. Malays are more than 60  % of the country when

The 60% an see everyone equally and give equal opportunity. The rest of them will follow. If you going to divide and rule, even in this working opportunity. I think it will be a disaster for the coming generation and you have to take a great sin for this.

As a human being, we have to be compassionate to other without seeing difference.

You and your government have an illegal immigrant camp where people are not free to do what they want. Why such a laws. People come here as a political refugee. In most of the first world country they are free to be as normal human being. Never are they arrested and put them in a closed camp. You are going beyond human rights.

Who are you to do so? Are you a God to decide? Did the God give you any privileges? In the same context if someone is a Muslim base, he is allow to be freely.

We are strongly opposing your corrupted idea. In the history of Islam the leaders traveled from one country to others without problem when they need. Why you are not Islamic when people are seeking for asylum?

Finally I would like to advice you that don’t hold your community so tight. For Example if you take sand in your both hands gentlely, the sand will stay on your hand.

If you grab it harshly and hold it tight, then you will see the sands fall down and slowly only a little will be left over. Be a good cultured human being first before implement other kind of rules.

Thank you

Yours Faithfully

Hindraf condemns the unjust and undemocratic act perpetrated by the ruling government lead by UMNO and its allies in their  latest antic.

A blogger who empowers the society with awareness and knowledge with the truth and a reporter who reported the truth  and a serving MP  arrested whereas the personality who incited and raised racial sensitivity is just slapped in the wrist.

It appears that the Malaysian government lead by Dr Abdullah Badawi has totally lost control of his administration and from the current state of affair it appears that such repressive actions against utterance of truth in a purported democracy is being engineered and navigated by the non other than the infamous Dr Mahathir and his “warlords” within UMNO and their allies.

This is a typical coup d’état whereby, Mahathir’s warlords have slowly usurped and having consolidated their position to create the bureaucratic elite that would make sure that UMNO and it’s allies stays in power and continue the regime that started fifty one  years ago.

With UMNO and its allies under Badawi as weak as it stands under the current vigor for change by the Malaysian society, Dr. Mahathir and his “warlords” needs to step in to maintain the status quo of UMNO and its allies to continue the regime.

All methods and acts against human right and civil liberty issues by installing fear and intimidation can only lead to the maestro, Dr Mahathir and his warlords.

HINDRAF condemns any act that is repressive against humanity and civil right in the pretext of national security and views that the current state of affair is to ensure that UMNO and its allies stays in power and continue their authoritarian ways.

This is no other than the repeat of the 1969 scene. Abdullah’s “oust” is imminent with the cronies of Mahathir teaming up to force Abdullah Badawi to step down.

It appears like the Home Minister who signed the detention order no longer takes instructions from the No 1.

The above are my personal views.

01.00  (AM) Msian Time 13th Sept 2008

ISA detainee Vasanthakumar had volunteered to join HINDRAF in September 2007 and according to him at that time he was “waiting for someone to do something drastic” and the fact that I had filed an action against the UK Government attracted him to join HINDRAF. He had then served as a volunteer and I offered him to undertake the post of pro tem treasurer.

It came to my attention in January 2008 that Vasanthakumar has been planted by the Police Special Branch to infiltrate HINDRAF and upon further investigations the fact became apparent.

In March 2008 I was informed by two top Government officers on separate occasions confirming Vasanthakumar was assigned to break up HINDRAF lawyers in detention and the organisation from his detention. He had since met with various people from within HINDRAF to break the organization.

V.K.Regu though was a Pro tem Secretary of HINDRAF but was removed personally by me in October 2007 for undertaking activities against the interests of HINDRAF.

Upon the arrest of the 5 I had appointed a 10 member interim committee of which Tanendran was made the National Co-ordinator and Ramachandran Meyappan alias Ramaji was made the Spiritual Advisor of HINDRAF.

Recent events have shown that Ramaji and Regu had made frequent visits to KEMTA prison to meet Vasanthakumar secretly and they had colluded to break up HINDRAF and take over the registration of HINDRAF as an organization.

Ramaji and Regu had various secret and unauthorised meetings with the Prime Ministers Department, the PM’s Private Secretary and top MIC leaders over the last 5 months and I have evidence of this. It is now clear that all their activities thus far is to break up HINDRAF and take over the leadership of HINDRAF together with Vasanthakumar upon his release from ISA

It wouldn’t be a surprise that the Government would approve the registration of HINDRAF as a legitimate organisation but the approval would be handed over to Regu Ramaji and Vasanthakumar and other MIC proxies so that the unity and power that HINDRAF has displayed under the MAKKAL SAKTI would be permanently be damaged and shattered.

I apologize to all HINDRAF supporters for concealing these crucial facts all these while. I did this solely to protect the unity and integrity of HINDRAF and to avoid the breakup of HINDRAF. I sincerely believed that the release of the 5 including Vasanthakumar is of utmost importance for the sake of HINDRAF’S struggle.

What transpired today at Butterworth is a blatant insult to the intelligence of all HINDRAF supporters. Ramaji and Regu had placed various advertisements and news in the local tamil daily over the last few days about gathering 20 000 people for a Yaagam for the release of the 5 HINDRAF and for the promotion of the 18 demands submitted by HINDRAF in August 2007 under their organisations ie HSS (Hindu Sevai Sangam) and an organisation loosely named Makkal Sakti. This event that was organised deliberately in the Permatang Pauh Constituency where there the Ex deputy Prime Minister is contesting in a by-election next Tuesday. By using the name Makkal sakti both ramaji and Regu had expected a huge crowd to bolster their grip on HINDRAF by the Prime Minister personally attending their Maha Yagam which was organised in a Chinese Temple (1st time of its kind) and entertained by a local famous pop band group.

I urge all HINDRAF supporters to remain calm during this crucial moment and urge all look out for news in our website and for the latest news.

As the Chairman of this organisation I take full responsibility for the damage caused to the divine struggle of this organisation and extend my sincere apologies to all our supporters. Let us all unite to fight the betrayers within us who are up for selfish gain and to break the unity that never was seen prior to this within our community over the last 51 years. May the blessings of the almighty be showered upon us on this crucial period and I seek his guidance to take me in the right path.
